Panthers Make NHL History, Then Throw In Another Hat Trick

Florida Panthers, NHL, Carter Verhaeghe, Sam Bennett, Brady Tkachuk, Hat Tricks

The Florida Panthers have had FOUR hat tricks in their last THREE games.. and three of them were natural hat tricks. No team in NHL history had EVER done that in three consecutive games!

For anybody unfamiliar, a natural hat trick means scoring three straight goals without anyone else scoring in between. Brady Tkachuk did it against Columbus, then did it AGAIN two nights later against Vancouver. That second one included the tying goal with 13 seconds left and the winner in overtime. Just a ridiculous week for one guy.

Then Saturday against Seattle, Carter Verhaeghe scored three straight goals in less than NINE MINUTES to make NHL history. And Sam Bennett apparently didn’t feel like being left out because he scored three of his own!

Florida won 8-3, marking the first time in franchise history TWO Panthers recorded hat tricks in the same game.

And to put this into perspective, the last NHL team to record four hat tricks before its 10th game of a season was the Toronto St. Patricks in 1922-23. The MAPLE LEAFS weren’t even called the Maple Leafs yet!

And poor Seattle scored three goals Saturday.. which was the exact same number Verhaeghe and Bennett EACH scored.

Imagine getting eight goals hung on you and TWO opposing players individually matching your entire offense. That’s a miserable flight home.
