Those are some expensive imaginary dice.
Quinn Meinerz didn’t even score. Jaylen Waddle caught a 2-point conversion, the 320-pound offensive lineman waddled over to celebrate with him, they pretended to roll some dice.. and the NFL sent Meinerz a $14,926 bill.
“We were playing Yahtzee. They didn’t like we were playing Yahtzee,” Meinerz told Mike Klis of 9News.
Which gets even better because back in 2017, the NFL said it had no problem with dice-roll celebrations because it wasn’t going to decide whether guys were pretending to play Yahtzee or backgammon.
Apparently nine years later they finally hired a board-game department.
Meinerz is appealing the fine. I hope he walks into that hearing with a Yahtzee scorecard and makes the NFL prove those imaginary dice were illegal.
