Jalen Hurts had a diagnosed blood clot in his calf, the Eagles cleared him to play against Jacksonville anyway.. and now we’re talking about blood clots in BOTH of his lungs.
The Philadelphia Eagles should be absolutely ASHAMED, and at this point, I want this entire organization gutted from the top down.
This isn’t some mystery about what the team knew. The EAGLES said an ultrasound found the clot in London on Saturday. Their medical staff and specialists cleared him, so he played Sunday and practiced again Wednesday. Then another scan showed movement in the clot. Today, they announced he has deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary emboli in both lungs. His season is likely OVER.
Now, we don’t know whether playing football caused these complications. But that doesn’t mean everybody gets to point at the medical clearance and act like there’s nothing to investigate.
Who signed off on this? What risks were discussed? And did ANYONE involved feel pressure to keep the starting quarterback on the field?
I want an independent investigation into EVERY decision that was made. And if anybody prioritized winning a football game over Jalen Hurts’ health, they need to be GONE. Medical staff, coaches, executives.. everybody responsible.
The Eagles are 2-4 and the entire football operation is already a mess. But fixing that football team means absolutely NOTHING compared to making sure the people running it can be trusted with their players’ health.
Thankfully, Hurts is stable and expected to make a full recovery. That’s the only good news that matters right now.
