It might actually be OVER for Dan Campbell in Detroit.. and I’m not saying you fire the guy tomorrow because the Lions are 2-2. But that grace period from 2024 is disappearing FAST.
Detroit went 15-2 and grabbed the No. 1 seed two years ago. Last year they went 9-8 and missed the playoffs. Now Carolina just hung 32 points and 445 yards on them, and that’s the THIRD time in four games Detroit has allowed at least 30.
And yes, I know Carolina won the NFC South last year. They were 8-9. I’m not pretending they’re Bishop Sycamore, but if Detroit still considers itself a Super Bowl team, this is a game you win.
Campbell said before the game he wanted discipline and effort. Afterward: “It’s not good enough right now.”
If a Dan Campbell team is failing the DISCIPLINE and EFFORT test.. what exactly are we hanging our hat on anymore?
He’s earned the chance to fix it. But after 9-8 last year, this isn’t just one bad Sunday anymore. That seat should be getting warm.
