Sidney Crosby Is Scoring Again. Now Change the Penguins’ Lines.

The Penguins should change the lines. They’ve had middling results, and most concerningly, Crosby had been quiet. Well, until Tuesday night.

The captain scored his first two goals of the season against Chicago, and once he starts scoring, he usually doesn’t stop. Things need to change, but the most important issue to rectify was Crosby’s point production.

I knew his game was coming back when he defiantly scored in the shootout against Dallas, the day after being left out of a shootout for the first time in his career. The look he gave the bench told me all I needed to know.

If Sid is back up to speed, the team will begin to play to its standards. Crosby’s play dictates a lot of what happens with this team. If he is off, the team looks off, and when he is himself, the team looks much better.

With his game back intact, he no longer needs his preferred wingers to feel like himself. Tuesday was still disjointed, and lineup changes are necessary, but everything will be fine now that the captain is back to producing.
