The Dodgers are headed to their THIRD straight NLCS after beating the Braves 4-1.. is anybody actually surprised? At this point, I think we’d be more shocked if they DIDN’T make it.
Atlanta beat Los Angeles FIVE times in six meetings during the regular season. Pretty impressive! Unfortunately, that gets you absolutely nothing in October because the Dodgers just sent them home in four games.
The Dodgers were 0-for-14 with runners in scoring position before Andy Pages finally broke through with a two-run single tonight. Ohtani hasn’t exactly been himself at the plate, Dave Roberts has been moving him around the lineup, and this offense hasn’t looked nearly as scary as it should.
They STILL won the series 3-1 against a 94-win Braves team.
That’s the ridiculous luxury the Dodgers have. They can spend half a series trying to figure out their offense while their pitching keeps them alive, and eventually somebody delivers. Most teams can’t afford to have that many things go wrong in October.
They won 100 games this season, they’re eight wins away from a THREE-PEAT, and once again we’re all sitting here hoping somebody can stop them.
At some point, the rest of baseball has to get tired of watching the same damn team celebrate.
