I’m not ready to call the Falcons a Super Bowl contender, but tell me who is volunteering to play this team in January right now?
Bijan Robinson looks like the best running back in football. Then after you’ve spent all night chasing him around, Atlanta sends Brian Robinson Jr. downhill to hit you in the mouth. Tonight those two combined for 207 rushing yards and FIVE touchdowns in a 45-24 win over New Orleans. That is two completely different problems coming out of the same backfield.
Drake London looks great too. He went for 96 yards tonight, Penix was efficient, and suddenly you can’t just load the box and make Atlanta beat you somewhere else. They absolutely have stuff to clean up. Eight penalties for 70 yards will hurt you against better teams.
But January football when everybody is beat up and nobody wants to tackle anymore?.. THIS is the kind of offense I want.
I’m not picking Atlanta to win the Super Bowl. I’m just saying nobody is looking at that playoff bracket hoping they get the Falcons.
