Joe Buck Might Be Babysitting Pat McAfee and Jason Kelce on MNF Next Year

Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, Pat McAfee, Jason Kelce, ESPN, Monday Night Football, NFL

Joe Buck has spent 25 YEARS calling football with Troy Aikman.. and I swear we’re going to end up with Buck sitting next to Jason Kelce, Pat McAfee, or somehow BOTH on Monday Night Football next year.

Front Office Sports reports that Buck already signed a new six-year ESPN deal, Aikman STILL hasn’t received a formal offer, and the two reportedly got into an argument before Monday’s Bills-Rams game. Now Aikman is on Dallas radio talking about becoming a free agent after the Super Bowl.

After 25 years together, this is how things might end?!

And look at who ESPN already has in the building. Jason Kelce is calling NFL games, Pat McAfee is one of the biggest personalities on the network, and I cannot help thinking ESPN is going to try something BIG if Aikman leaves.

Now Pat actually came out and said there have been ZERO conversations about replacing Aikman and that he doesn’t even want to be a traditional color commentator. So maybe Jason is the more realistic option.. but I’m not completely ruling out ESPN finding a way to get Pat involved.

Can you IMAGINE Joe Buck trying to call a third-and-six while Jason Kelce and Pat McAfee are sitting next to him?!

Joe would go from having the same broadcast partner for a quarter-century to essentially being the substitute teacher supervising a podcast that occasionally remembers there’s a football game happening.

And I kinda want to see it happen!
