A Brewers fan has spent ELEVEN YEARS holding onto a ticket for a game that didn’t even exist yet.. and it might finally pay off!
Back in 2015, Nate Holzman paid $1,000 for something called a Brewers “Timeless Ticket.” It was a personalized brass ticket that could be redeemed for ONE future home game. Opening Day, a random Tuesday in July, or even Game 7 of the World Series. They only made 1,000 of these things!
Now imagine buying that when Milwaukee hadn’t reached the World Series since 1982. You’re essentially betting a thousand dollars that someday the Brewers are going to give you a game worth waiting for.
And Nate WAITED.
Eleven years later, Milwaukee has swept the Dodgers and is headed to the World Series. Fans are staring at ticket prices in the thousands, while Nate is trying to cash in on a purchase he made over a decade ago.
According to WISN, the Brewers have confirmed they’re honoring these tickets, although Nate is still waiting to learn which game he’ll attend and where he’ll sit.
The Brewers actually advertised Game 7 of the World Series as a possibility when they originally sold these things. Imagine how many times Nate could’ve gotten impatient and used that ticket for a playoff game over the years.
And imagine being somebody who cashed theirs in for a random Wednesday game back in 2017.. then watching THIS happen!
I really hope Nate gets his World Series seat. Waiting eleven years for the biggest game in your team’s history is some ridiculous dedication.
