SEVENTY-SIX turnovers in THREE games. The Clippers aren’t struggling to share the basketball.. they’re sharing it with absolutely everybody.
26 turnovers against the Lakers on Friday. 26 more against the Thunder on Sunday. Then another 24 Wednesday night in a 103-87 loss to a Lakers team that didn’t even have Luka Dončić.
And these aren’t just empty possessions. Oklahoma City scored 38 points off those turnovers. The Lakers scored another 31 off them Wednesday. That’s 69 points off turnovers in TWO games!
Even Ty Lue was talking about needing to take care of the basketball after the Thunder loss.. then they went right back out and turned it over 24 more times.
I understand it’s early. The Clippers have new pieces, guys are getting comfortable together, and there’s going to be some ugly basketball while they figure things out.
But there’s a difference between needing time to build chemistry and repeatedly handing the other team the basketball.
Before we start debating this team’s playoff chances or how good they could eventually be.. can we please establish that everybody knows which jerseys they’re supposed to pass to?
